Peter Methven built the current Mille Lacs Lake Funeral Home building with local contractor Vern Harms in 1987. Through a sequence of events over the last 20 years, the funeral home has changed hands two different times. When it became available in 2005, Peter, Nate and Ryan formed a partnership and purchased it. The building was in need of repair and it has since had a new roof, tarred parking lot and stone pillars added on the outside. In March of 2009, new air conditioning was added as well as an updated heating system. On October 3, 2018 Peter retired and Nate and Ryan officially took over the funeral and cremation business. They are proud to continue the tradition quality funeral care that Peter began.
