CITY OF SANDSTONE Community Service Partner The City of Sandstone is accepting applications for the permanent, full-time position of Community Service Partner. The primary responsibility of this position is to carry out public safety duties that do not require a police officer or Sheriff's Deputy; including rental inspections, code enforcement, animal control, and crime prevention. Desired candidate will be willing to work with the City to obtain certification as a Building Official, serving as a Building Official Intern until fully qualified. This individual will develop and build relationships with local business owners, residents, property owners, emergency response agencies, local civic organizations, landlords, tenants, and others with an emphasis on problem solving and community building. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED; demonstrated dependability, responsibility and self-motivation; ability to handle contact with employees, law enforcement officers, emergency response agencies, and the general public with tact and courtesy. Must be able to articulate both verbally and in writing with above average communicative skills. Must demonstrate a service-orientated attitude. Starting salary is $62,000 with a 0.50 cent per hour raise after 6 months and another 0.50 cent per hour raise after 12 months. Union position.
