At Zion Lutheran Preschool we provide a loving and Christ-centered environment for children. The students learn about Jesus in group time. We learn about the wonders of nature and the blessings of our families. We sing religious songs and say a table prayer before snacks. We celebrate Thanksgiving - giving thanks, Christmas - Jesus' birthday, and Easter - Jesus' resurrection.
Zion Lutheran Preschool has built its curriculum around the philosophy of developmentally appropriate practice. Decisions teachers make in planning the curriculum and reacting to what happens each day are based on a knowledge of normal child development and what is known about each child's interests, abilities, needs, and background. "One in Christ" is the name of our current curriculum from Concordia Publishing House.
Teachers at Zion help children develop a sense of trust, a sense of competence, and a sense of initiative.
